BiographySteve Downs is a Hollywood CA / Mexican Irish Abstract Expressionist & Honeybee Preservationist. Downs is a prolific artist that has exhibited works relentlessly throughout the U.S, and is re-emerging into the live painting scene after spending nearly 5 years primarily in studio and working in the bee world. He has been a honeybee preservationist for 20 years and has been painting since his mid 20's.
Steve Downs is the Founder of Beecasso Live Bee Removal Inc, which focuses on a chemical free humane approach to bee removal. He began producing art and music events under his trademark brand Beecasso in 2014. Down's has a multitude of #Beecasso projects and has a trademark character and name #Beecasso Steve donates a portion of his proceeds from Beecasso Events, art work & merchandise sales to bee conservation and protection. |

He exercises considerable freedom in his technique and execution to attain the end goal; to complete his vision. Downs uses color theory, composition and application of paint as a potent exploration his passion. His painting process invokes a zestful and vivid interplay between shapes, figures and color in a playful yet sensuous ways. He aims to speak to his audience by including hints of symbolism in his pieces.
